Austin, TX most expensive available home. Comes at an whopping 15 million dollars. Just listed 20 days ago, it is sure to be on the market a while given the current economy. Homes in the Austin area listed for over $750,000 take much longer to sell than those below that mark. Currently it is estimated to take 24.7 month to sell all the homes listed above $750,000. That is a long time. Homes listed for under $750,000 take just 11 month to sell, and if you go even lower to say under $400,000, all the listed properties would sell in only 8 months time. It is important to note that these are estimates based on past performance.

These estimates have nothing to do with how long it will take to sell your home. It simply points out the amount of buyers vs sellers. Currently there are a greater number of homes for sale over the $750,000 threshold than buyers willing to pay for them. It is a buyers market in the high-end homes.

So how does our $15 million dollar home fair? Well, if I won the lottery tomorrow I would think about buying it. I don’t how ever think it is going to sell for a while because who is going to shell out that much cash right now. People who have that kind of money in this economy are few and far between.
